Today's reading from Deuteronomy 8-10
Deuteronomy 8 spoke about not forgetting the Lord
Deuteronomy 9 God chose israel not because of Israel's integrity and righteousness but because He loved Israel. He reminded them what happened how they provoked god in the worship of the golden calf, the grumblings at Taberah, Massah and Kibroth Hatavaah. he reminded of the unbelief in Kadesh Barnea how because of that only Caleb and Joshua was allowed into Canaan.
Deuteronomy 10
Moses had to do the same things to get another set of stone tablets. he had to be on the mountain for forty days and nights. He reminded the people to fear God because He is the God of gods and Lord of lords. the great God , mighty and awesome who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.
