The Back to the Bible Beginning to End Reading Plan

Today's reading Ezra 8-10
King James Version with Web Encyclopedia Links: Ezra 8; Ezra 9; Ezra 10

Ezra 8 v. 1-14 is the list of families that came to jerusalem. v. 15-36 is the return to Jerusalem.

Ezra 9 is Ezra's prayer about intermarriage of the people with neighboring people. This was a big problem then and is a big problem today in the evangelical churches. Paul spoke about marriage in 1 Corinthians 7 and not being yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthains 6.14-18. The issue of intermarriage here was not about the spouse's ethnicity but about her devotions to abominable practices and idolatry.

Ezra 10: the people confess their sin of intermarriage v. 1-17. There was a list of those guilty of intermarriage.
